Adrian was Chief Executive of London Gifted & Talented (LGT) and co-Chair of London's Gifted & Talented Regional Partnership until March 2008. For 3 years he led LGT's team of educators, producers and web developers to develop and deliver training and support to teachers and learners from more than 1500 of London's 2200 maintained schools.
With a background in education and child psychology Adrian worked in BBC Schools and Children's TV where he directed programmes including The Really Wild Show, Play School and Record Breakers. He lived in Canada for 15 years and held programme controller positions in radio, television and new media at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and the Ontario Education Communications Authority (TVO).
An International Emmy Award winner, Adrian is a member of BAFTA, the Royal Television Society and the Radio Academy. He is Vice Chair of the World Summit Foundation for Media and Children, and is on the advisory board of the Learning Skills Foundation. He remains on the board of directors of LGT
After 18 years as a classroom teacher in inner city schools, Ian wrote the original vision document and created the consortium of local authorities, higher education institutions and the private company that became LGT.
Ian's main interest is in urban education.
Nicole's background is in secondary science. Since 1999, she has worked extensively in the gifted and talented arena, leading and managing the programme both in and across schools as a Lead and Strand Co-ordinator. Nicole now works as an independent education consultant offering innovative training and support services to schools, local authorities, G&T Regional Partnerships and national organisations. She has written course materials for the National Strategies G&T Leading Teacher training programme.
Sara is a senior lecturer at the Institute of Education. She is an experienced teacher who helps staff in schools develop and has a national and international reputation in relation to training of leadership and management, leading continuing professional development, monitoring teaching and performance management. She trains, inspects and consults widely, including with the DCSF's London Challenge team and leading the 'From Self Evaluation to School Improvement: The Importance of Professional Development' project.
Having started his career as a teacher, Peter has worked for over 20 years in senior management roles for local authorities, the Learning and Skills Council and a not-for-profit business. All of these roles have the common thread of working to support teachers and learners, helping them to achieve their goals.
He has a B.Ed (Hons) from London University and an MSc from Northern Illinois University, USA. In his spare time he is Chair of Governors of a school in south west London.
Has taught in a diverse range of schools around the world, developing a wealth of experience leading Gifted Education & Thinking Skills programmes.
He has published in the United States and has a new book soon to be published in the UK on Thinking Skills. His is a UK expert on Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills and is helping many schools develop 21st century learners with transferable life learning skills. He works with schools across the UK as a critical friend in auditing G&T provision and developing approaches to Personalising Learning. He has led e-learning communities, student programmes and teacher training for London Gifted and Talented.
Graham has spoken at many international conferences and has led teacher training workshops in New Zealand, Australia, United States, Singapore, France, Sweden, Finland and the United Kingdom. His workshops and keynotes are relevant, provocative, interactive and based on classroom practise.
